Why I'm Running
When I was a kid my dad used to take me to the McKeon Post to box. I remember not only the fun we had but also the valuable lessons I learned, both in and out of the ring.
When you get knocked down you get back up, always offer a hand to those in need, and stand up for those who need your help. Those lessons, along with a legacy of public service passed down by my dad, still inspire me to this day.
Now I am running for Boston City Council to take those same principles to City Hall where I will fight everyday on behalf of the people of District 3.

John FitzGerald
Growing up, John's parents taught him and his siblings the importance of hard work, humility, and community involvement. When it came time for John and his wife to start their family, they wanted to impart the same lessons to their kids and ensure they were raised in a community that believed them too, which is why they decided to make Dorchester their home.
Issues & Priorities
Having spent the past 17 years working at Boston City Hall, John knows the building inside and out. He knows how it works, and more importantly, he knows how to make it work for you.
John decided to run for Boston City Council because he wanted to give back to a community and City that has given him so much and do all he can to make it even better, not only for his family but for you and yours as well.
